Diamond Valley College – Term 3 Update 

 

School Sport Victoria – State Cross Country 

A huge congratulations to the 17 DVC athletes who qualified and competed in the SSV State Cross Country! It was an outstanding achievement to make it to this level, and our students did us proud with their determination and performances. 

🎉 Special highlights included: 

  • đŸ„‰ Year 8 Boys Team – 3rd place in the state! 
  • Ruby Moore – 27th (14/U Girls) 
  • Danny Andrikopoulos – 28th (14/U Boys) 
  • Lucas Oliver – 29th (14/U Boys) 
  • Tully Carr – 38th (15/U Girls) 
  • Max Davidson – 28th (16/U Boys) 

Every student represented our college with pride, placing in the top 100 runners across Victoria – an incredible accomplishment! 

 

Regional Finals Wrap-Up 

Well done to all our teams who progressed to the Northern Metro Regional Finals after successful Division Round Robins last term.  🏾 Our Intermediate Boys Badminton team showed great development, winning multiple matches.  🏐 The Senior Boys Netball team had two strong wins, narrowly missing a place in the grand final.  đŸ’Ș The Senior Girls Netball and Intermediate Girls AFLW teams both made it to their respective grand finals, finishing as runners-up after hard-fought matches. Fantastic effort all round!

As Term 3 gets underway, we have a busy sports calendar ahead. Here's what to look forward to:

  • Tuesday 12th August – Intermediate Round Robin: Basketball, Hockey, Table Tennis, Futsal 
  • Wednesday 20th August – Year 8 Round Robin: Basketball, Hockey, Table Tennis, Futsal 
  • Thursday 11th September – Year 7 Round Robin: Basketball, Hockey, Table Tennis, Futsal 
  • Wednesday 10th September – Regional Athletics – Over 40 DVC athletes will compete for a spot at the State Championships! 

 

Staff vs Year 12’s – Netball Showdown 

For the first time in five years, the staff have been defeated in the Staff vs Year 12 Netball Match!  The Year 12s fought hard and came away with a 3-goal win, capitalising on the absence of the staff’s secret weapon (Geoff Brasier). The staff rallied and drew level early in the third quarter, but the students surged ahead to claim a memorable victory. 

👏 A big thank you to everyone who played, umpired and came down to support – we loved the energy and sportsmanship on show.  🗓 Next up: Staff vs Year 12 Basketball – Monday 1st September. Don’t miss it!
