Visiting Organ Pipes National Park
Year 8 students recently studied land formations and geography. As a part of this study, we looked at impacts on mountain and rock formation made by volcanoes. We are lucky enough to have some beautiful and unique rock formations nearby and all Yr 8 students travelled to see them.
https://www.visitvictoria.com/ describes them: “Formed by cooling and cracking volcanic lava, the organ pipes look just like their name suggests, towering above the river below.
A short walk away you can also see the Rosetta Stone that looks like the spokes of a wheel as well as tessellated pavement and fossils over four million years old.”
Students completed a research task about this area and had a fantastic time exploring the formations and natural wonders along the bush walking trail.
