Science Week

The theme for Science Week this year was “Decoding the Universe”, and science truly came alive through a range of exciting activities and events.
Throughout the week, a daily quiz was released, giving K–12 students the chance to test their knowledge and win a $5 canteen voucher. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all students who participated with such enthusiasm.
In the secondary school, two main events took place. Leading up to Science Week, Year 7–10 students worked hard on their own scientific investigations. On Monday 11 August, they showcased their projects at the in-school Science Fair. Selected students then went on to represent the school at the BIG Science Fair in Burnie on Tuesday 19 August. Congratulations to all students for your effort, creativity, and dedication to your investigations.
On Friday 15 August, Year 7–10 students took part in a series of hands-on science challenges. Year 7 students built gliders, Year 8 designed and constructed bridges, Year 9 engineered earthquake-resistant towers, and Year 10 created innovative eco-habitechs. Each creation was tested and judged, with the most successful designs earning prizes.
A huge thank you to all students for your energy and engagement throughout Science Week, and to the staff whose support made these events possible.
