Science Week
Our classrooms were buzzing with curiosity and excitement this week as we welcomed parents in to join the fun! 🧪🔬
From hands-on experiments to fascinating discoveries, it was wonderful to see students proudly share their learning, and explore science together with their families.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made our Open Classroom.
Faith in Action
Our amazing Year 5/6 students have teamed up with our School Chaplain to lead a Bible Study during Monday lunchtimes!
It’s so encouraging to see students taking initiative, growing in faith, and creating a space where others can explore God’s Word together.
DRUMBEAT Building Resilience Through Rhythm
Our students had the opportunity a few weeks ago to participate in DRUMBEAT, a powerful program that combines music, connection and personal development.
DRUMBEAT (Discovering Relationships Using Music, Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes & Thoughts) is a therapeutic drumming program designed for young people, that rhythm, conversation and fun. DRUMBEAT creates a safe and supportive space to explore important life topics like identity, values, peer pressure, teamwork and emotional expression.
🫱🏼🫲🏼Positive relationships with peers, family and teachers
💛Emotional regulation and self-awareness
🌱Improved self-esteem and confidence
🏫Increased school attendance and community connection
We are grateful for the chance to be part of this beat-driven journey towards resilience and belonging, one rhythm at a time.

Preschool Outcomes Measure
Our school will be participating in a trial of a new tool called the Preschool Outcomes Measure. This tool is designed to help teachers better understand a child’s learning and development in Kindergarten. It focuses on a child’s language and problem-solving skills.
The trial is part of a National Applied Trial being conducted in schools across all states and territories, aimed at improving educational outcomes for children in the year before full-time school.
Only some kindergarten children may be invited to take part in the trial. If selected, your child will participate in a range of familiar classroom activities as part of the process. If you do not wish for your child to be included in the National Applied Trial, please return the ‘Opt-out form’ to your child’s teacher by Friday 15 August. If our school does not receive this form from you by this date, your child may be included in the trial.
To find out more about the Preschool Outcomes Measure and the National Applied Trial, please read the fact sheet sent out via EdSmart, or ask your child’s teacher.
Parents, you have been sent a survey about the possibility of starting Before & After School Care on the Burnie Campus. We would appreciate you taking a minute or two, to complete the survey if this option may be something that would support your family.
