Coffee Morning Catch-Up
On Tuesday 6th August, we were delighted to host another Coffee Morning, and what a lovely morning it was! It was heartwarming to see so many families taking the time to come together, connect, and enjoy each other’s company. These informal gatherings are such a special way to strengthen our school community, share stories, and support one another.
A massive shout out goes to one of our wonderful parents Basma El Houli, who generously made and shared delicious Kenefe (a delicious Lebanese dessert), as well as tasty pastizzi that everyone enjoyed! Some of us are even planning to try and make Kenefe. 😊 A huge thank you also to Sheri Seyit and Anna Terzi for keeping the coffee flowing and making sure everyone had a warm cup in hand. We’re so grateful to all who came along and contributed to such a welcoming and joyful atmosphere. Stay tuned for our next Coffee Morning in Term 4. We'd love to see even more families there!
National Week of Action Against Bullying
This week, Newport Lakes Primary School proudly took part in the National Week of Action Against Bullying, joining thousands of schools across Australia in reinforcing our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
Throughout the week, all grades participated in special lessons focusing on this year’s theme: Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up. These sessions encouraged students to explore what bullying is, how to stand up against it, and how to support their peers. Students engaged in discussions, roleplays, and reflections that helped them understand the importance of kindness, empathy, and speaking up for themselves and others.
We are incredibly proud of the thoughtful contributions made by our students during these lessons. It was inspiring to see them demonstrate a genuine commitment to looking out for one another. Together, we continue to build a school culture where everyone feels valued, safe, and supported.
Some of the wonderful work created by our students will be on display at the front office.
