Book Week
On Tuesday, the Heights Campus had our Book Week Parade. All the students dressed up as their favourite book character. There were lots of creative costumes. Each class got to show their costumes by walking around the parade. Afterwards, the vice captains chose the best dressed costume out of each learning centre. All the winners had amazing and creative designs. The winners got a surprise book and a certificate as the prizes.
We also had some special visitors from the World of Learning and another kinder. We chose the best dressed for them as well as the teachers. Some parents joined classes in reading activities and used their creativity to make their own awesome book covers. Mrs Miranda hosted the Book Week Parade with the help of the Vice Captains and the mc’s
MLC Library Visit
MLC students walked down to the Springvale library. They were lucky to have a visit with an illustrator called Sunshine. She helped teach the MLC how to get inspiration for characters in their stories. She also shared her many books with them that she has illustrated for lots of authors. Students then had a chance to draw their own character after spinning the lucky wheel!
Swimming
Springvale Campus have been lucky to have swimming for the last 2 weeks. Next week and the week after it will be Heights Campus’ turn. We would like everyone who is swimming to start practicing, getting dried and dressed on their own at home, so they can be experts when they are at swimming!
Can all students please get their swimming things ready! You will need: a towel, your bathers, underwear/spare socks, hair brush, swimming cap and a plastic bag to put everything in.
We are very excited to start swimming.
100 Days of School
Last Friday the Foundation students celebrated being at school for 100 Days! What an achievement! They have all grown and changed so much since they started at the beginning of the year! The day was filled with lots of fun activities - with the theme being 100! They had to build a stack of 100 cups, make 100 dots, make fairy bread with 100s and 1000s and many more! Congratulations to our Foundation Students.
