First Holy Communion
A huge congratulations to the children in Year 3 who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. The feedback from parishioners and our Priests, Fr Patrick and Fr Anthony was extremely positive. Students had a deep knowledge of the Sacrament and were very reverent throughout the whole Mass. Thank you also to the family members who prepared the children so well. In all 4 Masses, the children were encouraged to make their second, third and fourth Holy Communion and to attend Mass as regularly as possible.
Staff Spirituality Day
Last Friday, Staff gathered together as a community for our annual Staff Spirituality Day. The focus was deepening our understanding of the Eucharist as the source and summit of our Spiritual life. We were provided with an opportunity to delve into the profound mystery of the Eucharist, understanding it not just as a sacred ritual, but as a transformative encounter that calls us to be Christ's presence in the world – bread broken for the world. We then explored the different components of the Mass and learned the rituals for the Introductory Rite, Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of the Eucharist and Concluding Rite. Staff were well engaged in the learning and are now able to take their new knowledge into the classrooms so that our students have a more deeper understanding of the Mass.
You’re invited to Parish Mass
Speaking of Mass, all St Joseph’s families and students are warmly welcome to attend our monthly Family Mass on Sunday at 8:30am, followed by morning tea. Today, students received invitations to show their family members and stick on the fridge at home. We are excited to announce that the choir will be leading the music and thank Ms Boyd-Skinner and Mr Aguilera for their leadership in this.
Staff Prayer
Three times a term, staff gather together as a community for formal prayer. Today, our prayer focused on “The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation” on Monday. We are so blessed to live in the environment of Bulli and are always encouraged to follow St Francis words in “Care for the Common Home”. Today, we were reminded of this, and staff worked together to plant flowers for our community garden at the front of our school. We thank Mr Matthews and the Year 6 Green Thumbs team for facilitating the garden and Mrs Smith and Mrs Clarkson for leading such a beautiful prayer.
What initiatives can you do in your local community to show “Care for the common home?”
