Year 9 Advance Students Visit Latrobe Retirement Village

This term, our Year 9 Advance students had the privilege of visiting Latrobe Retirement Village, where they spent time interviewing residents about their fascinating life stories. From childhood adventures to tales of resilience, the students uncovered memories that painted a vivid picture of how times have changed over the decades.

Over the course of the project, students not only gained insight into history through the eyes of those who lived it, but they also developed important skills in communication, confidence, and respect when engaging with elderly people and new acquaintances.

Two weeks later, the students returned to the Village to present personalised reports to each resident, highlighting the stories they had learned. This meaningful exchange was met with smiles, laughter and heartfelt conversations, strengthening the connection between the younger and older generations.
