Science Week Challenge

National Science Week in 2025 will be held from August 9th to 17th. The theme for the week is "Decoding the Universe - Exploring the unknown with nature's hidden language", according to the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA). This is Australia's largest annual celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Our school aimed to inspire our students to engage more in STEM through reading our amazing new collection of science books, considering lab kits they can access to perform educational science experiments at home and solve a DNA ‘who dunnit’ challenge. The challenge for Science Week is to work out which animal has been preying on native birds in the local nature reserve using DNA sequences.
The winners for each year group will be announced through Google Classroom in week 5 with some tasty treats offered. The future of Australian birds depends on Beverly Hills Girls High School students!
