Japanese Mito Daini High School Visitors 

Our school had the pleasure of hosting Mito Daini High School students in week 3 of this. Thirty of our students were paired with 30 international Japanese students and given an opportunity to practice their Japanese speaking skills, build lasting friendships and learn more about Japanese culture. The three-day event ended with a day trip to Symbio Zoo were students shared amazing hands-on experiences with Kangaroos, wildlife and even a petting zoo. The sunshine after the rainy weather not only allowed us to enjoy this wonderful day but also encouraged all of the animals to leave their shelters to greet us while enjoying the warmer weather. Our girls unsurprisingly did not disappoint with their hospitality and Mito Daini staff and students were so happy with their experience, they are already planning their next visit for 2026! The most difficult moment was the final farewell which left many girls from both schools in tears after separating from their new friends. However, we can be sure that our girls now have pen pals for life!
