Year 11 News

Our wonderful Year 11 students are coming to the end of the Preliminary course and getting closer and closer to the start of Year 12, the HSC course and the last year of high school. This is such an exciting time for young people, yet it can come with significant stress and anxiety around their futures.

Year 11 assessment timetables have been released, and they will take place in week 8 and 9 this term. Students have been given documentation to inform them about assessment policy. During this exam time, students are to stay home until they have an assessment task and are expected to attend school only for that assessment task.

We ask parents to support their daughters to in getting to school early for their tests, taking into account changes in traffic and public transport. Additionally, parents can also offer support by sitting down with their daughters and developing a study schedule together, encouraging them to follow it as closely as possible, while also making sure this is balanced with breaks, personal and family time.

In addition to this, we as student advisors as well as managing deputy principal Ms Byrnes have been conducting a Senior Review process. In this process, we are working hard to identify students who are facing challenges in Year 11 and supporting these students by developing strategies with them, and with parents, to enable them to reach their potential. Parents may be involved in this review process if required. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Year 11 or Year 12, please don’t hesitate to contact the school for further information.
