Year 5/6 Learning Reflection - Book Week 2025!

The Grade 5/6 students have had a huge amount of fun and super learning opportunities these past two weeks with the Bullying Is Never OK Day and Book Week.
We had the actors from the Flying Bookworm group come in and perform some valuable lessons for us.
We also learnt the difference between verbal, social and physical bullying and strategies to use to stand up to bullies at the right and safe time.
As part of Book Week 2025 we were lucky enough to have the published author and one of our parents from our community, Kelly Brodie-Brown, visit us and tell us about the process of publishing a picture story book. She read her new book 'The Style Secrets of Gareth McGreen' to us and answered questions we had. She signed our own copies too!
We then had a blast dressing up as a character from our favourite books.
We've also been creative, decorating our class doors to let you know about a book we have been reading and enjoying. If you haven't seen them yet, come and take a peek!
Lastly, a huge congratulations to our students who took part in Districts sports competitions on Friday!
We are very proud of all your efforts!!
