RCIA

Please find attached the booklet for School-Parish Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). It is a structured program that prepares candidates to be received into the Catholic Church and thereafter live as faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Sydney Catholic Schools has a diverse and growing mixture of students and parents from non-Catholic religious backgrounds. There is also a significant number of students from Catholic families entering our primary and secondary schools who have yet to receive Baptism or other sacraments of initiation. Hence, the need for an adapted parish-school RCIA program to address these needs.

MINI VINNIES GATHERING 2024

Last Wednesday, four representatives from our Mini Vinnies team had the exciting opportunity to attend the Mini Vinnies Gathering at the Australian Catholic University in Strathfield. During the day, they were able to mingle with Mini Vinnies from schools across Sydney while engaging in interesting workshops about the good works of the St Vincent De Paul Society. These workshops explored homelessness and the cost of living, Vinnies van services, environmental stewardship, and migrants and refugees.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL NIGHT PATROL SANDWICH MAKING

Last term we continued our outreach in the making of sandwiches for Night Patrol. I am pleased to announce that St Aidan’s is rostered on to make sandwiches again later this term.

Last term we made 250 sandwiches that were delievered to St Vincent de Paul and given out on the Night Patrol van using the money raised for our Dollar for a Dinner.

A big thank you to Year 6, Mr Brett, Fr Rafael and Mrs Di Maggio who assisted in the making of the sandwiches last term.

RELIGION LESSONS IN YEAR 2

Last term Year 2 explored the unit Signs of Gods Love. Through this unit the students explored story of the Exodus, a foundational story in which the People of God pass from slavery to freedom through the waters of the Red Sea and the significance of water and other key liturgical symbols.  Using Playdough and Lego the students shared what they had learnt.
