The NAPLAN data for Year 3 and Year 5 students this year indicates significant growth in Literacy and Numeracy. Factors contributing to this growth include the implementation of the new English and Mathematics Syllabus, effective teaching practices, thorough student data analysis, constructive feedback, student goal-setting, and active engagement in learning.
Areas of positive growth across the Year 3 and Year 5 cohorts compared to the State were in Reading, Writing, Spelling and Numeracy. Across our school network our school performed particularly well in Reading, Writing and Spelling compared to other schools.
Professional learning sessions related to the analysis of NAPLAN data at the school level have resulted in modifications to teaching and learning programs, addressing targeted areas for Kindergarten to Year 6 to improve student performance and achievement of Syllabus outcomes.

Parents and carers please be reminded that the school visitors’ car park is not intended for morning drop-offs or afternoon pick-ups. We have numerous students who utilize the pedestrian crossing at the car park entrance. Kindly refrain from using the nearby business car parks along Burn’s Lane, as we’ve received several recent complaints about parents utilizing those parking facilities. For the safety of our students, please avoid parking in Burn’s Lane when collecting your children, especially during peak traffic hours.
Another reminder that there is NO RIGHT TURN into the driveway from Port Hacking Road at school drop and pick up times. There is also NO RIGHT TURN from the driveway onto Port Hacking Road at the same time. Thank you for taking these safety considerations into account in order to keep ALL of our community safe.
From next week you will be notified about school events and other relevant information from the office through Compass ONLY on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30pm. This will hopefully manage the amount of information that comes your way at all different times during the week. Classroom teachers will still be in touch with you where necessary about changes to the classroom program and activities. We will trial this process and make amendments to it if needed.
