Welcome back
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope you had a great break and are ready for the term ahead. There are many activities planned for this term, beginning this week with a Year 6 fundraiser for their gift to the school and celebrating Australia competing at the Olympics. Please wear green and gold on Tuesday, 30 July and bring a gold coin to support Year 6.
The Athletics Carnival is on Wednesday, 31 July.
For students P-2, the carnival will be held at school.
For students 3-6, the carnival will be held at Rosford St Reserve at Smithfield. Travel will be by bus.
Parents and carers are welcome to attend both events.
On Thursday afternoon and evening (1 August), we will be holding parent/teacher interviews. This is an opportunity for families to make a time to speak with your child's teacher to discuss their learning progress and next steps. If this day is not convenient, please contact your child's teacher to arrange a time to meet another day.
Education Week
Next week (Week 3) is Public Education Week. The theme for this year is 'Proud to Belong'. This week is a time for all of us to feel "proud to belong", sharing pride in being part of NSW public education and the achievements of our students and staff. We would like to thank all our school staff and families who belong to our school community.
Events planned for Week 3 are:
Quote for Week 2
“All Australians can proudly point to public education as one of our great strengths as a nation.
A quality education system that is available to everyone regardless of their postcode, their wealth, faith or ethnicity.
An education system that is an intrinsic and transformative part of our social fabric.
An education system that does so much to ensure that our cherished values of equality and the fair go are also our day-to-day reality.”
