Year Five Stop Motion

Students in Years 5AJ and 5JD have been channelling their inner film director and are in the midst of  creating some amazing stop motion productions.

Beginning with the initial ideas and then planning out the stories onto StoryBoards, students are working individually or in teams designing, creating and bringing to life amazing characters that they have made using self-selected materials found in the art room, such as figures made from foil or modelling clay, or items brought in from home.

The app, Stop Motion, was explored. For some students, this was their first experience, but others came with prior experience which made it a true collaboration - with students learning from each other. Important aspects of digital learning, such as responsibility of digital property, respect when filming in the classroom and proper use of iPads are always at the forefront of our lessons. Students will be adding their final touches to the productions, ready to present to the class in the coming weeks.
