大家好!
A big welcome back to all for Term Three Week Four. 潘老师 and 王老师 have loved having you back learning in our classrooms and being risk takers with speaking, writing and reading Chinese. This term we are also lucky enough to have a number of Chinese experts with us with our visiting international students. Thank you for making Chinese class so much fun!
This term we are focusing a lot on numbers throughout the school! Foundation students are learning to count to 10 and use this knowledge in counting objects and recognising Chinese number symbols.
Year One students have been principled when looking at numbers, learning about linking number sentences with Chinese characters and connecting these numbers to time.
Year Two students have been learning about family members and are counting people in their household.
Year Three students have been inquiring into Marco Polo and his travels to China. Students have written dates in Chinese and constructed diary entries to incorporate keywords linked with Marco Polo’s travels and discoveries.
Year Four have been great communicators learning how to introduce themselves by saying their name, age and hobbies in Chinese.
Year Five have been using their open cycle writing knowledge to create seeds and write character diary entries based on characters in traditional Chinese folktales.
Year Six have been exploring migration from China to Australia and have created diary entries taking on the persona of an immigrant. Next week Year Six students will begin their science exhibition unit which we are very excited about.
谢谢你!
