School Systems

Having the best learning systems in place which support effective student learning in conjunction with clear communication with parents and carers in a timely and effective manner is essential to achieving the very best student outcomes. To this end Gisborne Secondary College has decided to establish a School Improvement Team (SIT) to review the current software platforms we use at the college, with the view to making decisions about providers moving into 2025.

Over this semester, the SITs scope will include reviewing our providers for everything from student academic reports, incident reporting and management, attendance data and the software platforms the students themselves interact with day to day.

The team itself will comprise teaching and education support staff, to ensure a broad representation of opinions and needs is captured.  The SIT will further capture student voice via focus groups and feedback.  Additionally, we will engage with you, our parent/carer community to understand the current pain points in our systems and where improvements could be delivered to parents/carers in supporting their child’s learning and communication with the school - keep an eye out for specific call to action from the school in this regard.

We will keep you updated as major milestones are reached by the SIT.
