Uniforms
Swimmers should arrive in club uniform, as advertised in our new uniform expectations. Please do not arrive in non-club hoodies, or polos. If you don't have an RSC hoodie, please wear your RSC polo over a black hoodie. Black track pants or shorts can be worn on the bottom.
Swimmers are also expected to compete in their purple caps, not their silver or black caps. Please see the new uniform standards released last week via Operoo and in the weekly update for more information.
Selina, our Uniforms Officer, will be in the clubroom on Saturday from 7-10am if you need to purchase any items.
We are running 10 lanes and each lane needs 3 timekeepers in order for the times to be official. We have asked other clubs attending to cover some of the lanes, but RSC will have to cover the majority of them with.
For Session #1: We have enough swimmers attending to allow for 2 shifts of 2.5 hours each.
For Session #2: We only have enough parents in attendance for 1 shift of just under 3 hours.
I understand that the shifts are on the longer side, but we will have RSC volunteers walking around to provide you with water and refreshments throughout the meet. Timekeeping gives you the best seat in the house, and seats in the grandstand will be in short supply! We currently have 350 swimmers entered in session one and 218 swimmers entered in session two! This is a great turn out and it will be a very busy day!
The RSC SC Meet is one of our 4 annual fundraising events, and we really need as many people to help out as possible. We have a team of volunteers that have already put in many hours organizing the meet as well as a team that will be running the meet, organizing catering, marshalling and check starting as well as awarding medals. Running a meet of this size is quite a large undertaking and we appreciate your help in ensuring that our swimmers and swimmers from visiting clubs have a great time and that the event runs smoothly.
Never done timekeeping before? No problem! It’s not hard and there will be someone there to explain what to do. You will be in teams of 3 so there will always be someone who has done it before who can help out.
We don’t have any back ups to fill the timekeeping slots so it’s really important that everyone attends for their timekeeping shift. If there is a reason that you can’t attend, please let me know as soon as possible so we can try to make other arrangements.
Thank you to everyone who has responded that they can do their shift. The roster is below:
