Hi everyone! My name is Liana and I am an educator at our lovely OSHC service. I have been a part of this team for a year and a half now and am so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community of staff and students. Throughout my time at OSHC, I have built positive relationships with all the students, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see their diverse personalities develop and flourish. My favourite part about working at OSHC is how welcoming and inclusive the environment is for all. It has been awesome to see how seamlessly the mid-year receptions have settled into our OSHC morning and afternoon routines. They have been busy meeting their peers, building connections with each other and making new friends.
This week, the Olympics has been our big idea which has encouraged the children to colour various Olympic pictures, complete quizzes, puzzles or games and design their own Olympic themed creations. We have had insightful conversations about various sports and the students have discovered and found new interests in the Olympic games for the first time. Most mornings and each afternoon, we have been embracing the beautiful sunshine and spending time exploring, playing and interacting with each other outside. Outside we have been busy playing soccer, AFL marks up and Tag on the playground. Whilst inside, we have been designing cool Lego structures, engaging in mindful activities like book making and colouring and have been challenging ourselves with mathematical calculations.
I am looking forward to supporting the students as the year goes on and see them develop through their learning journey as unique individuals. Bring on the warmer weather!
