We have had an exciting start to term 3, by welcoming many of the new mid-year receptions at OSHC! Our focus in week 1 was on our NAIDOC week program. We focused on the importance to both celebrate and recognise the history, resilience and pride of First Nations people in Australia. The children participated in traditional crafts and games that enriched their understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture. The week was both educational and inspiring, which fostered a respect and connection to the land and its original custodians.
Moving into week 2, we kicked off our Olympics program! The 2024 Paris Olympics also started during the same week and we have continued this program through to week 4. This program emphasises the values embodied by the Olympic athletes and the event itself. Additionally, the unity created by all the nations coming together is seen as a positive global experience to be celebrated. The children have been engaging in various collaborative activities to promote teamwork, idea sharing, and an overall positive experience from this program.
These programs have been a great start to term 3 and it has been wonderful to see so many of the children engaging in the programs and having fun with their peers whilst doing so. I hope all the new families who have joined our OSHC community this term have had a warm welcome and that the children have had a fun and positive start to their OSHC journeys.
