Students are invited to dress up for the day as their favourite book character.
Athletics Carnival
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming College Athletics Day, to be held on August 15 at McEwen Reserve, Shepparton. This event promises to be a fun-filled day of sports and school spirit. All students are expected to attend the event and are encouraged to sign up to participate in a range of Athletics events throughout the day and to encourage and support their house.
Attire:
On the day, we encourage students to dress in their house colour with shoes and clothing appropriate to take part in physical activity.
Travel:
Students will travel by bus to and from the college to the Athletics track.
School of Wonder students will participate in events from 10am-1pm:
The School of Wonder students will return to the College after their final event which concludes at 1pm. School of Innovation and School of Possibilities students will leave the College at 9:05am and return to the College by 3:15pm.
What to bring:
Students are required to bring enough food and water to sustain them for the duration of the day. Children are required to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle with them to the track. Take away food (dropped off from parents or dropped off by services such as UberEATS etc) is not permitted. We recommend applying sunscreen and providing your child with a hat.
Other details:
Under no circumstances will students be allowed to leave McEwen Reserve. Should your child be required to be collected from the event, please follow the college protocols by contacting the college office prior, to arrange collection of your child. In circumstances of early collection, you will be required to collect your child from the sign in desk at the Athletics track, which will be supervised by staff. We will not allow students to leave without sighting their parent or guardian. Please note that students will not be permitted to use their phones or any other personal device during the day as per the College Mobile Phone and Device Policy. Should you need to contact your child throughout the day, we ask that you contact the College and not your child directly, as per our Policy.
Parents are encouraged to come along to McEwen Reserve to support your child. We kindly ask that you follow our child safe processes and sign in at the sign in table prior to heading out to the oval spaces to watch the events.
In alignment with all College events, this is a strictly alcohol, drug, smoke and vape free event. Any person under the influence of alcohol and drugs will be required to leave in accordance with College Alcohol and Substance Use Policies.
Please note that the signing of the Annual General Permission form, sent earlier in the year, grants permission for the students to attend this event.
