INTEROCEPTION ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK:

Interoception helps us understand and respond to our body's internal signals, like hunger or stress. To support this important skill, try these simple activities at home with your child:

  1. Deep Breathing: Practise slow, deep breaths to help your child recognize how breathing affects their feelings.
  2. Body Scanning: Guide your child to notice different sensations in their body, from head to toe.
  3. Mindful Eating: Encourage your child to eat slowly and pay attention to how food tastes and feels, noticing when they feel full.
  4. Emotion Check-ins: Have regular conversations about emotions, linking feelings to physical sensations (e.g., butterflies in the stomach).

These activities can enhance your child's self-awareness and emotional regulation. Give them a try and see how they work for your family!
