In The Art Room

Term 3

Welcome back!

It’s Clay Term! Clay is a much anticipated activity here in the Art Room! Our imagination explodes with all the possibilities that working with clay inspires. Our brainstorming efforts have come up with a multitude of creative ideas ranging from animals, dinosaurs and birds to functional ware such as our own cups and plates and teapots. We always begin our Clay term with ‘Clay Play’. Foundations had so much fun exploring.

Take a look at the amazing grade 1 creations!

and these made this week by Grade 2s!

Grade 3 and 4 Slug Sculptures

Making a newspaper form was the easy part of making our slug sculptures. The FUN part was wrapping our slugs with gooey, sloppy plaster bandage, otherwise known as Mod Roc.

Incognito Art Show

There’s a different kind of Art Show running in Australia at the moment. The Incognito Art Show showcases the diversity and abilities of all artists Australia wide and gives everyone the opportunity to have work exhibited, sold or purchased, essentially becoming a celebrated part of the collectable Art world. The catch is that all artworks remain anonymous. Everyone, from renowned artists to kiddos exploring their ideas are exhibited as one and as equals. As part of our Festival of Hidden Treasures, I would like to invite all families to have the experience of their artwork being exhibited and sold in our very own version of The Incognito Art Show, in order to raise money for our school.

Keep your ear to the ground for further information to come very soon.

I look forward to sharing our art adventures with you next time.
