Body Awareness Curriculum

Students this term will be learning about Body and Spatial Awareness as part of the new curriculum written by the school’s PBS & OH&S committees. In response to the growing number of accidents in Semester One, we identified a need to support students with theirs and others’ safety.

There are 10 sequential lessons that the students will be exposed to; looking at identifying hazards, using equipment safely, playing safely with others, preventable and unpreventable injuries, responding to others who are not playing safely and reflections when accidents and injuries happen.

We are hoping the lessons promote student responsibility towards safety at school, and importantly, reduce the number of accidents they have been occurring. Parents and carers play an important role in this space, and any conversations with your child about the new curriculum will no doubt support them as they reflect on the lessons.

End of Term Faction Reward

At the close of Term 2, students from Nairn Faction took part in the End of Term Faction Reward!

They were rewarded with the choice of movies or sports, with icy poles!

Congratulations to Nairn for collecting the most GROW awards last term, and CONGRATULATIONS to all students who have achieved a GROW award and contributed to their Faction’s overall tally.

GROW Awards are awarded to students weekly across the school. Each award adds to their faction’s overall tally. Students aim to be the leading faction to secure the End of Term Faction Reward!
