Catholic Identity Report

Feast of the Assumption

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Assumption and the day we commemorate Mary being taken to heaven body and soul. It is a Holy Day of Obligation in the Catholic Church. Our Year 4-6 students will be attending the Parish Mass at 9.30. All welcome to attend. There is another Mass at 6pm for anyone who wishes to attend that Mass.

Reconciliation

We have 31 children preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation which will be held Tuesday September 4th. The first of two Presentation Masses will be held this Sunday. A reminder that it is an expectation that our candidates attend a Presentation Mass.

Children’s Mass 9am Sunday

This Sunday (19/8) as mentioned will be a Children’s Mass for our Year three Reconciliation students.  All children P-6  are encouraged to attend this Mass and are welcome to come and sit up the front if they wish. The following Saturday (24/8) 5pm Mass will also be a Presentation Mass and therefore a Children’s Mass.

Father Steve’s Anniversary

Next Thursday, August 22nd is the first anniversary of Father Steve’s death and Mass will be celebrated at 5.30 pm. There will be a dinner at Burkes following Mass. All are welcome to attend both or either. If attending the dinner, please contact Amy at the Parish house PH 57443030 by tomorrow so a reservation can be made.

Catholic Identity Review

This week we have had a visit from David Walker, Religious Education Officer, Louise Levy Indigenous Education Officer and Brenda Keenan, Principal consultant of the Western Deanery all from Catholic Education Sandhurst. They have been visiting as part of our Catholic Identity review held every four years.  Many of our students were involved in this process including school tours and question and answer sessions in their classrooms. Our visitors were very impressed with our students as we all are. Thanks also to all the staff involved in this process.

Have a great week,
