Principals Report

“Heavenly mother, filled with God's grace, pray for us today and all days, that we may strive to trusting, patient and faithful, as you were, so that we may one day join you and all saints in heaven. In Jesus's name we pray. Amen.”

“Immaculate Mary, assumed into heaven, teach us to trust in God's plan the way you did."

Good afternoon Parents and Carers

Tomorrow the Church celebrates the Feast Day of the Assumption of Our Lady when according to our faith, the Holy Mother, "having completed her course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.” This is a Holy day of obligation.

This week, our entire school engaged in a Catholic identity review. The process involved a panel that spoke with staff, students, parents, and Father Jun Jun. The panel thoroughly examined our school's practices, policies, and processes. I am pleased to report that the review affirmed the work we do at Sacred Heart, with many of our practices classified as outstanding. The entire school community should take pride in these results. I would like to extend a special acknowledgment to Ms. Meegan McInnes for her exemplary leadership in this area.

The Fire Carrier commissioning ceremony will take place tomorrow (15th Aug) at 2.30pm at the Gulnya Garden. To be a FIRE Carrier (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education) is to exercise an important leadership role in the school community. FIRE carriers at Sacred Heart are students and teachers that share a passion for learning about Aboriginal culture and history and are committed to sharing this knowledge and promoting reconciliation within and beyond the school community. All families are welcome at this special event.

Have a wonderful week
