Sports News

It was that time of the year again, The footballers, the netballers, and the soccer players, were all dressed up in dresses and guernseys, ready to show off their skills. Excitement, (as well as fog,) filled the air, as the years 5’s and 6’s, started walking down to Vic park.

NETBALL-

All the action kicked off at 10 am, with the netball, Sacred Heart 1 defeated Sacred Heart 2. From then on Sacred Heart 1 defeated every team, up until their 5th game -their last game. It was against their arch nemesis. P-12. (Also their best friends on Fridays and Saturdays.) Both of the teams had won all of their games. Everyone was nervous. All the parents were standing around watching the kids.

“BEEP,” The buzzer sounded, Sacred Heart scored the first goal. Big cheer from the crowd. P-12 step in. A cheer from the crowd, P-12 got a goal !The rest of the first half kept going like this. Goal for goal. “Nrrrrrr” The siren goes. Sacred heart in the lead by a goal. The adrenaline rises. “Nrrrrrrrr” Back on court. Sacred Heart step in. We knew we could do this. Goal for goal still. P-12 gets a goal. Noooo! They are in front. There they go again. P-12 were two goals up. Score 6-4. Sacred Heart step in. Bring down the court. Goal! One goal down. Sacred Heart's defence was the best it had been all day. Everyone was on the edge of their seats. Sacred Hearts defence really was amazing. They bring it down the court. Goal! They were 6-6 each way. Sacred Heart step in. Goal! Yessss! 7-6 Sacred Heart! Our defence was up. Goal! Then, the best thing happened. 8-6. “Nrrrrrrr” The buzzer sounds. Sacred Heart won. Everything had gone to plan!

We would like to thank our coaches, Mrs Trembath, Mrs Ramsdale, Zoe Freestone, Lenny Ramsdale and Kendall Connell.
