From the Year 6 Classroom

In Literacy, the students have been learning about Poetry. We have been exploring and writing Odes, Ballads, and Free Verse poetry. Analysing the structure and poetic devices used in these various forms of poetry. The students are now presenting their poetry as a Podcast.

Money. Calculating change and discounts on items and solving money word problems. We have now started a unit on Shape. Focussing on identifying the features of 2D and 3D shapes and their properties.

We would like to congratulate Sally Howell who competed at the Regional stage of the Lions Club Public Speaking competition last Sunday. Sally presented her speech with great confidence and engaged the audience amazingly. Sally finished in 3rd place, which is a fabulous achievement.

Yesterday, the Year 6 students were invited to attend Country Buddies, to celebrate Science Week

It was a great opportunity for the students to plan and deliver each of their experiments which was greatly appreciated by the students in the three and four year old rooms
