Year 11 and 12 at HTS

I was very excited last week to be involved in the announcement that HTS is going to Year 11 and 12. During my principalship this has been explored twice before this third attempt has been successful. The time is now right. The support of families, staff and students in the surveys completed last term really gave me confidence that it is the right time to give choice to remain for the last two years of schooling to our students and families.

Planning is now underway and this week I am meeting with all the leaders of HTS to discuss our next steps. With the support of the ACSO we will be hosting a information forum mid this term to discuss the plans of this project along with the opportunity for questions. I will keep you updated via the newsletter on a regular basis.

If you missed the launch:

Congratulations!

To Luke Readett (Year 7) and Fletcher Andrews (Year 6) who last week ran at the All Schools/PSSA Cross Country Championships.

Luke came 13th and Fletcher came 6th. Fletcher is now off to the national championships. What an extraordinary achievement!

Planning for 2025

Census

This Friday is our census day. We need to submit our student and staff numbers to the ACSO who in turn let the government know.

This process really kicks off our planning for 2025. Please read the Privacy Notice attached.

Kindergarten interviews

We are organising our Kinder interviews for 2025. If you have dropped in your application forms Mrs Cathy Dyer will be contacting you in the coming week or so to organise a time for you and your child to come and meet with me. It is now important if you know someone who is ready to start Kindergarten and would like to come to HTS that we received their enrolment form. Please collect from the Front Office or jump on our website.

Year 6 to 7

This week a note will be going home with our Year 6 students regarding their intentions for Year7. Enrolment is continuous at HTS so we do not need another form. The form going home is to help us plan classes and resources including the school provided iPads. Please return the note as quickly as possible.

Uniform

Both departments are currently doing uniform checks to maintain our high standard of presentation. The wearing of the school uniform is very important at our school and we require parental support in this area. Class teachers and pastoral care teachers remind students  about wearing correct uniform. As always we just require a note from home explaining the reason why the student is out of uniform and when it will be rectified by . If we do not receive this note the teachers may send home a note requesting this information. If there are financial reasons for not being in uniform please do not hesitate to contact me so we can support your child to be in correct uniform. My email is jrainger@arm.catholic.edu.au.

Attached are our Uniform and Presentation Guidelines

Look ahead

This term we have much to celebrate:

Next week is NAIDOC Week

Week 5 is Book Week

Week 6 is Science Week

In all three weeks students will be involved in learning activities that broaden their knowledge and experiences.

Have a great week!

Jilly
