Student Achievements

JATNET Poster Competition

Every year, JATNET (Japanese Teachers Network in Tasmania) run a Poster Competition and this year the theme was the Year of the Snake. 

Students of Japanese across the state are all encouraged to participate and at Mount Carmel, we had students from Years 1 - 8 submit an entry. In order to be eligible, their poster had to include writing the word snake in Japanese using Japanese script, draw a snake and include other Japanese themes. 

In the Years 3-4 category, Zara Singh (Yr 4) received an honourable mention for her poster. Congratulations Zara!

Congratulations to Year 6 White student, Aimee Chen, on being awarded the 2025 Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Level 8 State Champion on the weekend.

Aimee was awarded a 1st place on the bars and beam and 4th place on the floor.

Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) consists of four different apparatus; vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.

Congratulations to Year 9 student Ava McDermott on her selection to represent Tasmania in Under 15 Football at the Schools Sports Australia Championships being held in Brisbane in July - August.
