On Sunday the Catholic Church celebrated the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV with much pageantry and ceremony.  But behind what appears to be a gala celebration, it is important to note that in a time of global uncertainty it is a time of renewal and a steadfast commitment mission. His selection from ‘Father Bob’ as he was known amongst Augustinians, to Pope Leo XIV, marks a pivotal moment in Catholic history, as he becomes the first pontiff to take the name Leo since Pope Leo XIII, who served until his death in 1903.

Pope Leo XIV's selection signals a desire to honour the rich legacy of his predecessors, especially Pope Frances. The name Leo, derived from the Latin word for "lion," symbolises courage and strength - qualities much needed in today's complex world.

Let us pray for his wisdom, health, and guidance as he assumes this profound responsibility.

A Prayer for Pope Leo XVI
Faithful God,
You guide us on the path of life
and your goodness is our constant companion.
Be with our new Shepherd, Pope Leo XIV,
in his service of the Church.
Fill him with the power of your Spirit,
the peace of your presence
and the compassion of Christ.
May he walk with you,
in wisdom and humility,
and lead us, together with all God’s people,
to embody your love for the world.
Amen.

Louisa Centre

For many amongst the College community ‘the building on the blocks’ on Sandy Bay Road has most certainly taken shape and as the days progress our imagination is being replaced by reality.

Our Kinder and Prep students and staff are starting to get excited as boxes are starting to be filled, cupboards emptied, as soon there will be an impending move. I know as parents you too are excited by this and please know that plans are afoot and all parents will receive news well before we actually move, which will include an invitation to join your daughter’s on the first day.

Dates and times of our relocation are still being finalised as we wait for confirmation from our builders, landscapers and architects. But please know when we know, you will know as well.

If you have any concerns or worries please do not hesitate to contact myself or Jasmin Reynolds.

Code Camp

Each Tuesday after school we have a number of Year 3 - 6 students who take part in Code Camp with Luu Duy Dinh from Code Camp World.  Over the past few weeks these girls have been busily working out how to create their own games and then playing them.  As you can see by the faces this hour spent is full of joy and laughter but also serious skill development which will be fabulous for their future.  With still a few weeks to go we can only imagine how skilled they will be.  A special thanks to the parents who have supported this program, your daughter’s certainly appreciate it.

Mother’s Day Celebration

A huge thanks to all our mothers grandmothers aunties and special female role models who attended our Mother’s Day celebration.
