Good Shepherd Feast Day

On Thursday 29th May, our school community came together in faith and celebration for Good Shepherd Feast Day, a day to honour our school and reflect on the values of compassion, care, and guidance.

The day began with a beautiful Mass led by Father Andrew, where students displayed great reverence and respect. The atmosphere was prayerful and peaceful, setting the tone for a meaningful day. Father Andrew delivered a homily, encouraging everyone to strive and be more like the Good Shepherd, kind, patient, and always looking out for others.

A highlight of the Mass was an inspiring interview with Kath, a beloved parish member, conducted by our Year 6 school captains. A summary of the interview shared by our Year 6’s included touching memories of her time at the parish, her favourite scripture passage, and offered valuable advice for young people about growing in faith and staying connected to God.

Following the Mass, students engaged in a variety of classroom and buddy activities centred around the theme of the Good Shepherd. These included thoughtful discussions, creative crafts, and collaborative learning experiences. The students particularly enjoyed making symbolic artworks that reflected the role of the Good Shepherd in their lives.

It was a joyful day filled with reflection, connection, and celebration. It was a reminder of the strong community we have at Good Shepherd and the guiding presence of Jesus in all we do.
