SRC News

Over the past few weeks, the SRC have looked at the PROTECT, which is a poster used by Victorian schools to promote child safety. They felt that this poster was too hard to understand for our students, particularly preps.
So, the SRC worked collaboratively to simplify the language and include friendly, age-appropriate visuals. The redesigned posters now feature bright colours, illustrations, and easy-to-understand messages.
The key safety messages remain at the heart of the poster, emphasising: Knowing your trusted adults at schoolUnderstanding the right to feel safeEncouraging students to speak up if they feel unsafeOutlining clear steps to seek help
The SRC enjoyed visiting classrooms and reading through the new posters! By making the PROTECT poster more relatable for Good Shepherd students, our school-wide culture of safety and empowerment has been reinforced.
