Year 9 Bring Shakespeare to Life at the Globe Theatre!

Our Year 9 cohort recently returned to the stage — the Globe Theatre no less — to perform the final scene of Romeo and Juliet, following a brief (but dramatic) intermission in their studies.

In keeping with tradition, the performance featured a mostly male-gendered cast, bringing to life the timeless tale of star-crossed lovers with passion and flair. While there were no tears in the audience, the performances were captivating, with students embracing their roles and engaging their peers in the emotional weight and tragic beauty of the final act.

Their commitment to character and story not only reflected a strong understanding of Shakespeare’s themes, but also deepened the collective learning experience for the whole cohort.

A big congratulations to our talented Year 9 English teachers — Miss Harrington, Miss Sommerfield, and Mr Gentle — for guiding students through this classic text with such creativity and purpose.

Bravo, Year 9!
