FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As we pass the midpoint of Term 2, the school is bustling with activity, reflecting the vibrancy of our students' academic, sporting, and cultural pursuits. It’s a rewarding time to witness our school community thrive in such diverse and exciting ways.
Our Year 12 History students have recently ventured to Sydney for their study days, where they’ve had the chance to attend valuable lectures, gaining insight into their course content and expanding their knowledge. This experience will undoubtedly support their preparations for the upcoming exams.
In another exciting development, a group of students attended the UNE Smart Farm Agricultural Tech Day. The event showcased the latest in farming technology and innovations, providing our students with a glimpse of the future in agriculture. We’re proud to offer them such an opportunity to see firsthand how technology is revolutionising this essential industry.
Looking ahead, our senior students will be participating in the Inverell Careers Day on Friday, June 13th. This event is a wonderful chance for them to explore various career pathways and connect with potential future employers. On the same day, we will also be hosting the Ross Hill Farm Day at our Agricultural farm, where our students can showcase our farm animals to our feeder Primary School students. If past events are to go by these students, both Ross Hill and ours will remember for a long time ahead.
On Tuesday 17th June, the Year 7 and 10 vaccination program from Hunter New England Health will return, providing an important health service to our students. We appreciate the support of families in ensuring that these essential immunisations are up to date.
In sporting news, the North West Cross Country event is fast approaching and will be held next Thursday, June 12th, at Coolah. The weather forecast for the day predicts a cold one, so I encourage all participants to dress warmly and come prepared for the event.
I would also like to extend a big congratulations to all our representative players for their dedication and achievement in their respective sports for North West and the Greater Western. A special mention goes to Jack Partridge, who has made the U15 CHS NSW Rugby League Team. Jack will be representing our school in Townsville at the end of the term, and we couldn’t be prouder of his accomplishment.
Additionally, the Student Representative Council (SRC) elections have just been held, and I want to commend all students who ran for election. Their commitment to leadership and service to the school community is truly inspiring. I am eagerly awaiting the final count and look forward to announcing our new SRC for 2025-2026 once the process is complete.
Thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and engaged students for making this term a memorable and successful one. Together, we continue to foster a learning environment that nurtures both academic and personal growth.
Warm regards,
Mr Wayne Fowke
