Learning this week:   

In Week 6, we continue to learn about the impacts and perspectives of Colonisation through exploring a range of historical texts, media and class games. As part of Reconciliation Week, we are also looking at how stereotypes affect people's views on Australian history. 

 

As part of this learning, your child will bring a questionnaire home over the weekend regarding culture. We ask that you please assist your child with these questions and discuss what they mean together.  

 

In Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, classes are exploring information texts and their features, while developing skills during spotlight sessions on note taking and summarising. We are also developing drafting skills to construct information reports on State Emblems and Colonisation. 

 

Mathematics: We are focusing on fractions with Year 3s learning about basic fractions and sharing amounts equally and Year 4s learning about equivalent fractions/ mixed fractions and decimals. 

 

Christian Studies: Exploring decision making and the 10 Commandments in the Bible; Thinking about listening, communicating, praying and influences, morals/ ethics through a range of Bible Stories to recognise how our decisions impact interactions and relationships with others. 

 

Reminders and information: 

GLOW WEEK 

Thank you to all those people who bought plant vouchers for the school. Can you please email these into school office. We also need a copy of your driver’s license as proof of address. Alternatively, you can drop these into the office, and they will take a photocopy of your license.  

 

Boxes 

In preparation for GLOW WEEK, we are asking that you drop any boxes (both big and small) into the front office.
