Reading: Aim to read for 15 minutes each night at home. Keep on reading books for your Premiers Reading Challenge. Let’s finish this term!
Mathematics: Create a bird's eye view of your house. Add as much detail as possible. Remember that a bird’s eye view remembers that you are looking down on the room(s).
Home Inquiry: Design a landmark that represents your family.
Learning this week:
Literacy: Word Study: Year 2 sound focus this week is: ie. Year 3 sound focus this week is: ie, y, igh, i_e. Below are the two lists of words we will be using at school to practice the sounds with.

Writer’s Workshop: we will begin our unit exploring information texts. We plan on publishing an infographic on a chosen landmark.
Readers Workshop: we will be focusing on finding connections in the books we read, using books as mirrors.
Mathematics: We will be exploring directional speak and mapping this week in Maths. We will also finish looking at shapes and objects.
Unit of Inquiry: We will continue our main unit of inquiry this term – Where we are in place and time with a focus on Landmarks. We will also continue exploring resilience weekly through an ongoing learning journal.

Glow Week – Term 2, Week 9 (June 23 – June 27)
We are super excited that GLOW week is back in Week 9 Term 2. If you have any special skills or hobbies that you’d be willing to share with the children, or if you would like to volunteer for this amazing week of learning, please contact your classroom teacher.
Teacher Absences
Please note that Mrs Richardson will be absent Thursday Week 6 (5th June) & Mr Trezona will be absent Friday Week 6 (6th June). Mr Schwartz (Thurs) and Mrs Tenten (Fri) will be in 2/3TR on these two days.
Soccer Clinics
Ongoing reminder that we have soccer clinics on Thursdays this term. (Week 4 – Week 7). Year 3s will need to wear PE on these days.
