Foundation Classes

I am delighted to advise families that due to the strong interest in our mid-year Foundation program at Golden Grove Lutheran this year, we are excited to offer a dedicated stand alone class for our mid-year Foundation students.

We anticipate welcoming a new cohort of students at the beginning of Term 3, who will benefit from learning in a newly refurbished learning area adjacent to our new Foundation space specifically prepared for this group, as well as spending some time in our new Foundation space itself.

This will enable all of our Foundation students to enjoy a positive start to their time in Foundation in classes which enable a continued strong focus on building the essential skills needed for success in a school setting.

This will support both our new students to begin their educational journey together as a small, close-knit group, as well as our current Foundation students to progress with their learning in this way. All of our Foundation students will enjoy more concentrated attention on developing foundational social, emotional, and academic skills that will serve them throughout their learning journey.

We believe this structure will provide an exceptional foundation for each child's educational journey, combining the proven benefits of learning and engaging within smaller groups with the richness of a vibrant school community.

Colour Run

What an absolutely fantastic day we had at our school Colour Run last Friday! The excitement was contagious as students made their way around the course, getting splashed with vibrant powders at each station. From bright blues and sunny yellows to hot pinks and electric greens, our students were transformed into walking rainbows by the end of the event. The laughter and cheers could be heard across the school grounds as children ran, walked, and danced their way through each stage of the course. It was wonderful to see students from all year levels participating with such enthusiasm, supporting their friends and celebrating together. Many commented that it was one of the most fun school events they'd ever experienced! The day wouldn't have been possible without Kylie Myllynen and our amazing parent volunteers who generously gave their time to help make the magic happen. From looking after the colour stations to helping with setup and cleanup, these dedicated volunteers ensured everything ran smoothly and safely. Thank you to every parent who rolled up their sleeves and got involved – your support made all the difference Students went home with bright smiles, colourful clothes, and memories that will last a long time. We're already looking forward to next year's Colour Run!

Middle of Term Breakfast Brings Our Community Together

Our middle of term breakfast was a heartwarming success, bringing together parents, staff and students for a wonderful start to the day. The smell of fresh muffins filled the Worship Centre as families gathered to share breakfast and catch up with one another.

What a difference being indoors made! After previous outdoor breakfasts in the courtyard where we sometimes battled chilly morning weather, it was delightful to enjoy a muffin breakfast in the cozy warmth of the Worship Centre. The comfortable setting allowed for more relaxed conversations and meant everyone could truly enjoy their time together without worrying about the elements.

A huge thank you goes to our dedicated Parents and Friends Committee who once again showed their incredible support by organising this special event.

We're also deeply grateful to our church volunteers who generously opened up the cafe to provide tea and coffee for everyone. This thoughtful gesture added an extra touch of hospitality that made the morning even more special. The partnership between our school and church community continues to be a blessing that enriches experiences for our entire school family.

The joy of seeing students chatting with teachers over breakfast, parents connecting with other families, and the whole community coming together in one space reminded us all of what makes our school so special. These shared moments help strengthen the bonds that make our school more than just a place of learning – it's truly a community.

We look forward to our next breakfast gathering in Term 3!

Eisugakkan

Year 5 students from Eisugakkan School, our sister school in Japan, will be visiting Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th July. During their stay, the students will have the opportunity to experience Australian culture and connect with our students. On Saturday 26th July, the school is seeking  homestay families to host the visiting students, providing them with a unique and memorable experience. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to engage in cultural exchange and offer a warm welcome to these young visitors. If you're interested in hosting, please contact Mrs Melissa Bishop, our Teacher of Japanese via email - bishop.melissa@goldengrove.sa.edu.au
