Learning and Teaching in Prep this Term

What a fun and fantastic term it's been in Prep! We've been working hard, learning lots and sharing plenty of laughs along the way.
In Literacy, we've been getting really clever with our sounds, blending them together to read words and segmenting them to help with our writing. We're using capital letters, full stops and even having a go at writing full sentences! Our confidence is growing and we're becoming amazing little readers and writers.
In Maths, we've been busy counting, spotting patterns and learning how to partition numbers.
Last Friday, we enjoyed the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program for this term. We made delicious pizzas and blueberry muffins using ingredients from our garden. We ate it all. It was yummy! A huge shout out and thank you to all our wonderful mums and Mrs Gosling who were our sous chefs on the day, helping us chop, mix and cook up a storm. We couldn't have done it without them!
We've also been working on something very exciting, our big performance for the school concert next term. There's music, dancing and lots of giggles as we practise. We can't wait to show everyone what we've been working on.
Another big moment we're counting down to is our 100 Days of Prep celebration. We're getting ready for a fun filled day to mark this exciting milestone and to celebrate everything we've achieved so far.
Best of all, we're really becoming a wonderful and loving little Prep family. We care about each other, look out for one another and have built strong friendships. It's been so lovely to see how much we've bonded as a class.
Next term is shaping up to be another big one and we're ready for it!
