The SRC and Year 6 Pillar leaders have been excited about the following initiatives in term two. We are learning to become people who “never see a need without doing something about it.” (St Mary MacKillop)
Our students are generously volunteering their time to help the school community in various ways.
We are collecting plastic bottles, cans and poppers with the 10c label. You are even encouraged to bring your recyclable bottles in from home and drop them off in our labelled recycling bins.
Pope Francis agreed that the Earth is our “Common Home” and that we have a responsibility to take care of it. We have noticed an increase in rubbish floating around our playgrounds and we are speaking to our classes about helping to do the right thing and placing the rubbish in the bins provided.
Wednesday 11th June | 4:30–8:00 pm
As part of our commitment to compassion and social justice, our school is proud to support the Vinnies Winter Appeal. On Wednesday, 11th June, students in Year 5 and Year 6 pillar leaders will be participating in a Winter Sleepout evening from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The students will engage in activities that raise awareness about homelessness.
Next term, the SRC will continue their work in helping the homeless by preparing food packs. More information will follow early in term three.
