CURRICULUM FOCUS
This week in Writing, we are continuing to learn about narratives.
VOCABULARY
Narrative: A piece of writing that focuses on telling a story; that features a beginning, middle and end, that features a problem and solution.
Orientation: How the story began. Usually outline the setting and characters.
Initiating Events: What kicks off the story, what happens to the characters; what is the problem they begin to face
Direct Consequence/Resolution: How the problem was solved.
Ending: How the story ended. What did the characters do after they solved the problem?
