Bulldogs Read Program

Last Friday, 27th October the Bulldogs Read Literacy Program participants celebrated the end of their time in the program with a finale day.

The day took place at Russell Square Recreation Reserve where the students had the opportunity to participate in  a circuit which also included the Western Bulldogs Inflatable Roadshow. The students thoroughly enjoyed this activity and it was great to see many of them interacting with students from the other participating schools.

Later in the day, students participated in a session with children’s author Andrew McDonald, author of the well-known Real Pigeon books. This was a great opportunity for students to hear about the process an author goes through to write and illustrate a book and how they generate ideas based on real life experiences.

One of our students, Eve C was lucky enough to have one of her book reviews judged to be in the top 3 reviews and for that she was rewarded with a book and a Western Bulldogs football- well done, Eve!

We congratulate all our participants for their efforts in the program throughout the year and commend them on the way in which they have represented our school in a positive way.

We have been invited to submit an expression of interest for the program in 2024 and will keep you informed on our progress with that application.

Lions’ Club Junior Public Speaking

Last week we held the school based competition for our junior public speakers. Due to some student illness, we are still to hear a few speeches, so we are hoping to be in a position to inform students of the results tomorrow.  Successful candidates will participate in the competition on Monday, November 20th at the Buninyong Bowls Club and compete against several other local schools.

2023 School Magazine

We are currently in the production phase of the 2023 school magazine which promises to have many memorable photos and articles that help capture the year that was.

Orders for the magazines will soon be available via the Qkr app. Please keep an eye on Compass as well as the next few issues of the weekly newsletter for more details in the coming weeks.

Swimming Dates

Please ensure that you complete the online consent in Compass for your child/ren. Contact your child’s classroom teacher with any questions regarding the swimming program.
