Building News

A couple of weeks ago, we spent some time with the SRC and senior students and brainstormed a name for the new building based on the spaces and their function. What an interesting (and very humorous) task! 

Some of the suggestions were (and we have only listed the more serious ones...)

The Palace, Monty Monkey House, The Imagination Centre, The Future Building, The Castle 2.0, Monty's Monstrosity, The STEM Centre.

The students then went away and voted on their favourite name via a Google Form. As a result, the name of our new building will be:

The Discovery Centre

We are hoping that the hand over date will be sometime next week. We are so very close! As soon as we have access, we will invite you all to tour the spaces in The Discovery Centre, before we relocate Camp Australia to its new location - the Multipurpose Hall.

Following this move, we will gradually move into the other spaces. We have purchased some new furniture which will arrive shortly, but we also want to gain a feel for the spaces before we determine everything that goes in these new, beautiful rooms.   

With our new building nearly completed, we are getting ready to re-launch our full SAKG program utilising our brand new kitchen space. We have big plans for 2024, led by Claire (SAKG - Garden) and Elisa (Science Specialist) and of course, our teams of teachers. We will certainly require a large amount of regular parent/grandparent/carer assistance both in the garden and also in the kitchen for cooking sessions. Moving forward we have decided to name this group of what will be, amazing helpers - Friends of SAKG.

Win fabulous raffle prizes at our 2023 Monty Christmas Concert & Art Show on 5th of December!

SEEKING DONATIONS

As with previous years we will be holding a raffle at our end of year event and are hoping that the Monty PS community can once again assist us with donations for our hamper prizes? 

So if you are able to donate any wine, chocolate, other delicious snacks, Christmas related fare, luxury pampering items or any other suitable items we would be most appreciative.

We will have a table set up for any donations in the office area, and raffle tickets will be available for purchase in the very near future.
