Year 12

And in the blink of an eye our Year 12s have left us for greener pastures (or to the cabins of headers and driving chaser bins) and our Year 11s start the transition to Year 12.

Year 11

Year 11s, please ensure you have spoken to your parents about whether you are required to come back to complete or start Year 12 planning work next week. REACH leave will need to reflect your personal circumstances but those who have completed work and will be leaving until next year are to enter - End of term leave 12pm Fri 17/11/23 back Wednesday 31/1/24. Those who are returning next week please put in weekend leave as usual and end of term starts from 3pm Friday 24/11/23 to Wednesday 31/01/24. Students Councillors are back Monday 29 January 2024 to assist us welcome the new Year 11s through their orientation and induction days.

Uniform requirements

As we prepare for next year can I please ask parents to check in with your student/s on their uniform requirements for next year. Many students are walking around in uniforms that are extremely well worn, short and dirty.  Black socks are also in short supply.

Packing up

Over the next two weeks, can all students please ensure they take home all of their belongings from both rooms and storerooms. We have a number of swags, camping and sports gear in our storerooms so please check with your student before you leave to go home.

Weekend and next week in Boarding

For students staying in this weekend, we have a pool swim on Friday afternoon in Northam with a shop on the way home. The first Skippers Ticket session will be held this Saturday, and we are looking forward to some gorgeous boating weather. Sunday is Toodyay Christmas market.  There will still be approximately 50 students with us for week 7 getting ready for ATAR, Certs and finishing off tasks that are to be completed this year, so the fun doesn't stop with the Awards ceremony.

Gratitude

It is that time of year where we celebrate and thank our amazing Residential staff who care, cook, celebrate and nurture our students every day and night while in Boarding. Our residential staff Megan, Mark, Kasey, Jordan, Leanne, Pip, Nigel and Danh are house parent/supervisors extraordinaire. They nurture, lead, cajole and have fun with our students while taking their duty of care extremely seriously. Our chefs, cooks and kitchen hands constantly deliver beautiful meals, special dinners and make the dining room the happiest place in the College, our heartfelt thanks for all you do. To our domestic staff and gardener, we would be lost without you and all your hard work is recognised.

I hope you all have a wonderful festive season, take the time to rest, play and get ready for a dynamic 2024.
