Hannah Moloney - Working Bee Sat 11th Nov

Join us to create an Indigenous Garden at Montmorency Primary School with Hannah Moloney from Good Life Permaculture.

 

Join us at Montmorency Primary School to create an Indigenous Garden complete with bush tucker plants. Hannah Moloney from Good Life Permaculture will be there to guide the creation of the garden and will share her knowledge in a mini-workshop. Students will cook up a delicious lunch for us to share, please bring a gold coin donation for lunch - all proceeds go to the school's Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.

Participants should bring gardening gloves and a hat. 

 

Only book a ticket for adults attending, kids don't need tickets.

If you own a bucket, mattock, spade, shovel, wheelbarrow or a garden fork, please bring it along - it will make the work much easier! Don't forget to label your tools.

 

Important - Please note: Tickets limited and are available for the Montmorency Primary School until 6pm Monday 30th October, after that, the event will be published on Hannah’s socials and the SAKGF socials.

Gardening

Two weeks ago, The Grade 5/6 students learnt how to make their own seed raising mix and planted a variety of seeds to grow in their classrooms. It has been exciting to see them germinating and bursting through the soil. Some of the faster growing seedlings like beans are growing noticeably taller every day!

Watering volunteers needed

As it is going to be a particularly dry spring and summer, we’re kindly asking for volunteers to help keep the garden watered. Most of our garden is on a timed irrigation system, however the drip system doesn’t meet all plants so it needs additional hand watering to meet its needs. Plants can be watered during pick up or drop off on weekdays. Follow this link for more information and to sign up:

Thursday's soup and seedling sale at Monty Mini Market

During the start of Term 4 our delicious student-run soup sale will continue on cool days. Students will also be selling a variety of seedlings and some produce from the garden at bargain prices. Hope to see you there!
