Literacy Volunteers

As we continue to further Literacy Learning at Mount Carmel College, we are looking to introduce more ways that we can support our students' learning.

We are looking for family or friends in our community who would like to volunteer some time to work with our Prep, Year One and Year Two students on their reading. Volunteers will read with a variety of students and work with small groups, following teacher directions.

Volunteers are needed for reading in our morning blocks (any time between 9.00am - 10.40am). We are flexible and more than happy to work with specific days and on a schedule that best suits you (i.e. weekly, fortnightly, monthly or occasionally).

If you, or someone you know, are interested, please contact: Nicola Smith, Literacy Practice Leader

p: 6216 7900

All volunteers must first check in at the College Office.

Learning for Life

Our Birth to 5 years program, Learning for Life, is back up and running for Term 4.

Sessions are run in our Early Learning Centre (former Kindergarten House) each Wednesday afternoon from 1.30pm - 2.30pm.

With a visit to the Botanical Gardens and the State Library, there are a lot of different activities for families to enjoy. Click on the link below to read the program.
