Acting Principal’s Message

Mrs Kathlene Fenton

Dear Parents and carers,

We are heading into Week 5, the halfway mark for the term! Congratulations to the students and staff for continuing to work tirelessly towards the end of the year. The next 5 weeks will be a busy time for everyone so please continue to check your calendars for upcoming events.

Whole School Swimming

As the weather is getting warmer we have been lucky to start swimming for sport each Wednesday! Our first session was certainly enjoyable with the students participating in a variety of fun activities. We will continue to swim for sport for the next two weeks so make sure your children bring their swimmers, towel, goggles and sunscreen each Wednesday. We also ask that they wear a swim shirt as the sun is particularly strong this year. Aquatic Skills will commence on Monday 20th November each day until Friday 24th November. Swimming coaches from Gunnedah, Maxine Kiellor and Louise Shanley will be here to give our children their expertise in the water.

Year 7 Orientation

Three of our Year 6 students had the opportunity to visit St Mary’s in Gunnedah last Friday in preparation for Year 7 next year. They had a really great day with lots of new experiences. The students will be going to St Mary’s again next Friday 17th November and I am sure they will have another great day.

Transition Graduation Ceremony

This Thursday 9th November we celebrate the graduation of our 8 transition children. The ceremony will start at 2:20pm and all are welcome. We congratulate our transition students on a fantastic year at Sacred Heart and we look forward to seeing them back at school as Kindergarten students in 2024.

Remembrance Day Liturgy

Remembrance Day is this Saturday 11th November. It is all about commemorating those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country in the line of duty. On Friday 10th November you are invited to help us remember by joining us at our Remembrance Day Liturgy in our ANZAC garden at 11am.

If you are able to go to the Boggabri Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph on Saturday morning, it would be greatly appreciated.

Assembly

Assembly will be held this Friday at 2:30 in the Infants space. This week Yr 6 will be presenting at assembly.

Kind regards

Kathlene Fenton
