Solve problems like:

Jeff was planning a party for 16 people. He went to the shops to buy lolly bags. Each lolly bag cost $4.50. How much did Jeff spend? He gave the shopkeeper $88. How much change would Jeff get back?

A stack of 40 identical toy boxes is 1000 cm tall. 

Markus takes three boxes off the top of the pile. 

How tall is the stack now?
