Welcome to library for Term 4.

I hope that all our families had a wonderful holiday and that children were able to enjoy some extra time for reading. Judging by the number of returns there was a lot of reading that happened in the holidays. With new books added to our collection nearly every week I hope that your children find lots of books to read this term.

Just a reminder that all students borrow on Monday each week. Year 5 come on odd weeks and Year 6 on even weeks. Students may also come to the library any day of the week to borrow or return as the library is opened very day, 2nd half lunch.

Over the holidays we had the library recarpeted. Due to this, we were unable to have borrowing last Monday. Most of the books have now been unpacked again and so borrowing has resumed this week.

Please remember that borrowing will cease towards the end of the term so we can prepare for our annual stocktake. I will give students plenty of notice as to when books need to be returned.

Online Links:

Premier’s Reading Challenge – Even though all students have completed the challenge for 2023, this is still a great way to look for books to read. 

World Book Online - a fabulous encyclopedia resource. Use Kids or Student.  If logging in from google our username is roselea and the password is school 

Kiddle - this is a kid friendly Google. It is great because it provides kid friendly sites

Booktopia - use this to easily find the names of all the books in a series 

Early World of Learning (World Book) great videos, games, stories, and activities

e-Books (World Books) - there are many nonfiction and fiction texts to read 

Word Book Quizzes - fun quizzes to test yourself 

ABC Education - fabulous research resources, videos, games, activities 

Primary Games - have some fun with a wide variety of games

Kids National Geographic - Science, History, Geography and animal articles

Kids News - current up to date topics presented weekly.
